Semiconductor foundry UMC held its shareholders’ meeting today. CFO Liu Chi-tung said the company is facing significant challenges as the expansion of its Singapore fab has sharply increased its cost burden.
As a result, UMC plans to pursue selective price increases starting in the second half of this year. The company also plans to enter into broader price adjustment negotiations with customers in 2027.
